The Experience

From connection to images, a curated journey

Is this your first professional photo session?  If so, then I'm sure you must have a bunch of questions.  Have a quick read below to see how this works.

My Approach

1. Connect & Discover

The first step is simply getting in touch. You can send me an email with any questions, or if you’re feeling ready, go ahead and book your session — I’ll take care of the rest.

2. PREP & PREPARE

Once your session is booked, I’ll be in touch to learn more about you and your family, and to gently plan the details — from location to anything that will make your session feel just right.  I have guides to assist you with various sessions including styling guides.

3. THE SESSION

The big day. We’ll meet, chat, and take a little time to connect so your family feels comfortable and at ease. Once they’ve settled in, we’ll begin capturing those first moments.

If young children are part of the session, I like to photograph them early on while their energy is fresh. For outdoor sessions, we’ll often start with movement — running, playing, and letting your kids burn off some excitement — before easing into more relaxed, posed portraits and those natural, cuddly moments you’ll treasure most.

4. DELIVERING PHOTOS

You’ll receive a few sneak peeks shortly after your session — often the same day or within 24 hours.

From there, I carefully select and lightly edit the strongest images to create your soft-proof gallery. This is typically ready within 1 day to 1 week, depending on the season, and I’ll always give you a clear timeline during your initial consultation.

Once your gallery is ready, you’ll have 3 weeks to select your images. If you need a little more time, just let me know — I completely understand that life can get busy, and I’m always happy to extend it for you.

After your session, once you’ve had a chance to enjoy your images, I would truly appreciate you taking a moment to leave a 5-star review on Google. Your kind words not only mean so much to me, but also help others find and trust me with their own special moments.

FAQ

Do you travel for photoshoots?

Yes, we travel throughout the Durham Region. If a location is greater than 30km from our home there is a $50 travel fee to cover mileage.

What should we wear for our session?

Depending on the type of session you have booked, most families choose to wear dressy clothes. For some session types, casual is fine, but always think of how these images will look in the future. Logos and strong designs are not conducive to long lasting quality images. It goes without saying that clothes should be clean, without nubs or fluff or lint and ideally without wrinkles.

How long does it take to get our photos?

A great question! I am usually able to deliver a few sneak peaks the day of your session (unless it's a mini day, in which case it might take a few days). Your soft proof gallery will be up for viewing usually within a week or two. Once you have selected your images, final editing can take from 1-3 weeks, depending on how many images you have selected and if your session was independent or part of a mini day.

Do you offer albums or prints?

Yes we do!! You can view all the products we offer on our products page, or the hand out given to you when we meet.
